CONTEST: Write a Creative Photo Caption for this photo. The best caption writer will be offered a FREE spot in our JUNE 7 PA DAY photo workshop (see details below)! Entrants must be between the ages of 7-12. Your can submit one entry and it must be no longer than one sentence and emoji free. lol.


Submit your child's photo caption entry to Diana at info@projectkidsandcameras.com or follow us on Twitter and enter your child's caption below the tweeted photo. Please don't forget to include your child's full name and age.


Enter by May 16. The winner will be announced on May 17.


What's a Photo Caption?

A photo caption describes what is happening in a photo. It provides the viewer with context which can be either factual and realistic or creative, whimsical, and metaphorical.


 

PA DAY PHOTO WORKSHOP DETAILS:

Our PA Day workshops are filled with fun, thematic photo activities and outdoor scavenger hunts designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of photography such as composition, perspective, lighting, elements of design, and how to best capture people and places! We also explore the works of iconic 20th century photographers as well as mount a pop-up exhibit of our photos taken during the workshop. ​ Digital cameras and portable printers provided for use during the program.

Project Kids & Cameras is a social enterprise empowering children and youth ages 7-13 to explore their voices and the world around them through photography, visual literacy, and social action.  We are a TDSB EDUCATIONAL PARTNER and a TORONTO PUBLIC LIBRARY PROGRAM PARTNER.


About our Community Partner Back Lane Studios

Back Lane Studios is a not-for-profit located in the heart of Roncesvalles Village. They have a high-ceilinged studio in a former dairy building at 9 Neepawa Ave., one block south of Howard Park Ave., just east off Roncesvalles. They work with schools to encourage youth to make short videos about their neighbourhood. During the summer, they offer workshops for young people in documentary filmmaking, photography and stop motion. Learn more about Back Lane Studios at www.backlanestudios.ca.
